The Bits: October 12th Through October 23rd

Mid-October Bits:
The Rams Boys took home the title of Colorado Springs Metro League 5A Champions for the 6th year in a row!  The guys had a great day, both varsity and JV, and the girls performed so well, too.  Ben placed 8th overall, finishing in 17:33.  It was a hot day and a long course, but they got it done.  So proud of you Rams!

The afternoon after a visit to the Book Fair.

Soccer Saturday!  No one is ever going to accuse Tommy of being an aggressive kid out on the field, but he sure loves to play!

Rams win 9-0 over Doherty!  No. 12 is my no. 1!

When you're trying to "Boo" someone who has a doorbell camera....

Let commence the Conlin family's busiest week of the year!  All the things I'm in charge of: our family, PTO and Primary, have huge things going on--and the picture is just our afternoons/evenings.  Add in the daytime work hours, 2 birthdays to prep for, Book Fair volunteering and the upcoming weekend full of Josh's birthday and Primary Program bits and pieces, and it is set to be one crazy week.  Shout out to all the mamas getting it done out there!

It was a great match-up, but in the end the Rams came out on top of their rivals, the Lancers, with a 4-3 win!  YEAH!  We especially loved the parts when our Z was on the field.  Woot!

Good press coming out for our Zac too!  Go Rams Boys' Soccer!  We believe Rams!!
Good morning,  October 18th.

Weeknight scenes: homework at the dining room table.
Conference dinner prep amidst Book Fair amidst conference Family Fun Night.  So grateful for an amazing army of PTO volunteers to help get it all done!
Rams Boys win the Colorado Springs Metro League Championship for the first time since 1993 with a 10-0 win over Coronado!!  (Just for reference for how long ago that was, fall of 1993 was the fall of Adam's senior year of high school--if we had lived here he could have been playing for that team).  It was a beautiful night, with Zac scoring the 2nd and 10th goals!  So excited for these guys!  Bring on the playoffs!!!

Let us first say--Ben is SO fast!  A new PR for him at the Colorado Region Five 5A race: 16:35!!  To put that in perspective: Ben ran faster than 5-minute, 30-second miles three times over.  Holy smokes!!!  The Rams Boys took 3rd at the race, finishing just one point behind Rock Canyon.  We are in the toughest region in the state, with 3 of the top 5 5A teams in the state in our region.  Our girls finished 4th, so both teams qualified to move on to state next week.  So so impressive and so exciting!!!

Teachers' Quorum camp out at Skagway Reservoir!  Ben loves these guys and loves time in nature.
Luke was a party animal over the weekend!  He had the Primary Program practice and then back-to-back birthday parties for friends.  He had such a fun day and waaaaaaaay too much sugar!

Now that is obviously a pair of church pants that has been through 5 boys.  I *think* it's time for the trash for these babies!  Ha!

Our Primary Program was absolutely wonderful!  First, great job, my darling Tommy and Luke; you two were fabulous!  It was my first program as Primary President, and I was so nervous, but I shouldn't have been--the kids were amazing!  They spoke clearly and sang so well, sharing their sweet words and lifting their beautiful voices up in praise and testimony.  I am so proud of them and their hard work, grateful for the support of their fantastic families and treasured teachers, and blessed by the wisdom and effort of my presidency and, most definitely, our talented music leaders!  Best Sunday of the year!
We all said goodbye to another faithful friend today as we buried Luna the Hamster.  Like Daisy 2, there was no clear reason why she died.  She loved her exercise wheel and nibbling fingertips.  Tommy was initially heartbroken, but he's doing OK.  He's decided to take some time off of hamster parenting for a bit, but not forever.
Well, hey there, Lizzie the Lynx!
