The Bits: April 16th Through April 30th

Taking us to the end of April!
Tommy's name was pulled in the lottery for School in the Woods!  We have another Naturalist!  I may have cried tears of joy.

Luke and Josh attended the Colorado Bandmasters Association with their Honor Band where their band received a Superior ranking--being awarded the best score possible for their songs.  Amazing work, guys!

Ben scored himself a new PR in the 2-Mile of 9:40.68 (!!!) and placed 9th running against an amazing field of athletes, including Cole Sprout, who set a new Colorado State 2-Mile record during the same race at the Dakota Ridge Invitational. Grandpa got to watch him run, too!

Tommy loves having a big cheering squad at his soccer games!
Becky said yes!  Zac now has a cute date to his Senior Prom! The poem ended in "with me?" (Gotta have the full rhyme in there!)  He's been planning this ask since he was in St. George during spring break.  He planted the cactus in some sand that he brought back from the dune in the picture that he wrote "Prom?" in.
Just one of those silly, normal scenes that are pulling on my heartstrings these days.  I'm sure going to miss these brothers together!

Colorado Rocky Mountain Brewery: a MUST for every Grandma and Grandpa visit!  So glad Aaron came with them to see us this time!

Zac, Ben and Josh auditioned for a small group performance in the RHS spring Pops concert.  They received special permission to have Josh play the piano for them.  Even if they don't make it in, it was so fun to see all three making music together!

We celebrated the International Baccalaureate Middle Years Programme Completers at a special ceremony at the high school.  Ben was nominated by his peers for a special award for his work on his 1,000 paper cranes, the "Taking on a Challenge" Award.  So proud of you, Ben!!
Zac's Senior Breakfast!

Celebrating 20 Years of Academy International!  It's crazy to think we've been there for 11 of it's 20 years.
Avengers End Game!!!  It was SO good.

Congratulations, Zac!  That will (almost) pay for your meal plan!  Haha!  But really, we are deeply proud of Zac for being awarded this scholarship--there is a lot of competition for it, since it is granted to just a few students from the Pike's Peak Region who are planning to attend any of the BYU schools.  Well done, Zac!  And thank you, Fink Family!

Soccer Saturday!
Ben ran FOUR events in Rampart's Run and Dance Invitational.  It was a small meet, only 4 teams, and one of them was from a town so small their entire student body population is less than Rampart's Track team, so Ben could have a little fun.  He ran the 4x800, the mile, the 3200 and the 4x400.

I had the chance to celebrate two awesome 40-year-olds in one night.  Jessica is one of my awesome Ragnar ladies, and Heidi was one of my first friends here in Colorado Springs--we helped keep each other sane during the years of abundant littles!  It was a night that reminded me how many amazing, wonderful women I know.
Working the After Prom Prize Table from 11pm to 3am with Laurie and Alexia!
April 30th snow!  Colorado weather is such a roller coaster!  It was a relief that it didn't stick to the roads, because Tommy had a Denver Zoo field Trip.
Denver Zoo!!
