Watching Zac onstage is one of those times. This month it was cheering him on as part of the ensemble cast in "Emma: A Pop Musical." It brought all those feelings to life: real joy, pride, completeness, contentment.
In the week before the production, Zac and the cast always have so much worry and anxiety as they get ready to send their work out into the world. They never feel well-enough prepared, Parent's Night/dress rehearsal is always a little lackluster, but they've worked hard in the weeks since auditions and every time so far that we've seen, they get the show polished up by opening night. And this time, as with every time, it shone! There is a lot of talent and so much heart and effort in this group of kids.
Another well done show, RHS Theatre, and especially our favorite cast member, Zac! It was entertaining, fun and the pop songs were catchy, many from artists from Adam and my teen years, such as Paula Abdul (with kazoos!), Whitney Houston, and Lisa Loeb (Stay--one of my teen heartache faves), as well as some that were older and some that were newer. It's so funny how you can have a song that you love that fades from your life, and as soon as you hear it again, your love returns along with all the words! The best part is that these teens are inspiring a younger group of kids to want to come out to be a part of it all--all of Zac's little brothers can't wait until they get to high school to join the theatre program. Zac, you were awesome! Bravo!
