Day two we visited California Adventure Park. We were there before the park even opened. Yippee! The California Food and Wine Festival was going on, so there was all kinds of yumminess to try, and the rides are so much fun, and we were so excited to see the new
Frozen musical at the Hyperion, and we were NOT going to miss Screamin' this time, and oooooh boy...the Ghirardelli's ice cream shoppe, and World of Color, and and and.... So much to love!
The one bummer was that Tower of Terror is under construction, being turned into some Guardians of the Galaxy ride, and we love that one, so we missed it! BUT, we are not ones to dwell upon the bad! Very first was Screamin'. Luke was so excited/anxious to ride it, plus we decided to go at the end of the day last year, and we didn't realize it would close early for World of Color, so we missed it, thus, this time it had to be first. He LOVED it! We got a rider swap for Adam (who went to get us Fast Passes for Radiator Springs Racers), since it was the one ride Tommy was too short for this trip. However, because we were there so early, the line was still pretty short when we got off, so we held onto the rider swap and Adam and the boys rode again (Luke was so happy!) and got another rider swap that we could use later in the day. Tommy and I hit the Little Mermaid and the King Triton's Carousel and ate a churro while we waited for them to reunite with us for some carnival game fun with Woody and Jessie, and then fly on the Silly Symphony Swings. Adam and the boys went to Goofy's Sky School (which makes me want to barf) while I ate shrimp louie salad, and then we all got soaked on Grizzly Rapids, except Luke who was covered head-to-toe in Adam's raincoat (no tears this time--winning!).
Grandma joined us around noon, just in time for us to race each other on Radiator Springs Racers--the person at the gate was nice enough to let Nicolle in on our Fast Passes, too, and then we met up with Grandpa, Leah, Jason and the babies. Let the real party begin! We played with bugs in Bugs Land and went to see
Frozen at the Hyperion, which was incredible. And we ate. All the food. It was so good.
We hit a couple of rides a second time. Jason and my guys went to Screamin' with the rider swaps, and Grandma and Grandpa took Tommy to Racers with the rider swap, so Leah, the babies and I went to Cars Land for some mambo. Before it was too late for the little kids, we said goodbye to the Lewises, with a beach date planned, then stayed to watch the World of Color show, which is just so incredible. Best part: the Captain Jack Sparrow fire scene! On the way out of the park, we noticed that Grizzly Rapids only had a 5 minute wait, so.... ONE MORE TIME! Such a fun way to end the night--soaking and chilly and laughing hysterically.
We were so glad to still have one more day. It made leaving so much easier!
