Tommy's 8th Birthday Nana and Papa Boston Adventure!

Tommy's Nana and Papa Adventure was amazing!  Here to tell you all about it is...Tommy!

First we flew on an airplane to New Jersey, which was really fun.  Even though it was delayed.  What I liked best about flying was how fast we got to our destination.  Then we drove from New Jersey to Boston, well, Cape Cod, actually.  Which was really far.  We drove through 5 states!  We got in late, so I went to bed.

In the morning, we went to the Route 28 Diner and I had waffles with chocolate chips and whipped cream.  Then we went to the Whydah Pirate Museum.  I learned that pirates were real, and they were bad, and the Whydah Pirate Ship had a 10-year-old pirate; the pirates took him and killed his mom.  We got to see how the divers found all the artifacts from the Whydah ship after it sunk.  After that, we went to Seagull Beach on Cape Cod and I saw a horseshoe crab shell.  It was weird!  And there were lots of seagulls.  Then I went swimming at the pool because it was too cold to swim outside and then we went to see Little Shop of Horrors the musical.  But first we went to the wrong place to see the show, so we were late.  It was cool!  The person who played the dentist was good, even though his character is not good; he sang my favorite song from the show, "You'll Be a Dentist."  At intermission we got a Hershey's king-sized bar to share.

The next day, we went on the Freedom Trail Tour in Boston.  We saw Park Street Church and Granary Burial Ground where a lot of famous people from the Revolutionary times were buried like Paul Revere and Samuel Adams.  We went to the 3rd most famous place in the world: the Old State House.  This is where the Declaration of Independence was first read in public.  After that we had ice cream at Emack and Bolio Ice Cream.  I had chocolate pecan--it was the best ice cream ever!  I also tried a lobster roll at Black Cat.  It wasn't my favorite thing we ate.  We went to the Puppet Showplace Theater and I saw a show that told Native American Legends, like how the fox and the racoon tricked each other, why the blue jay is blue and the gray wolf isn't, and why the bear has a stumpy tail. This was one of my favorite things on the whole trip!

The day after that we went on a Boston Tea Party ship.  We got to throw tea into the harbor and hear about how the people who lived in Boston didn't like the taxes on the tea.  We learned that it is important to speak up for ourselves.  After that we went to the New England Aquarium.  My favorite was Marley the turtle, the other two turtles were resting.  We got to see a really cool show there, even though we weren't planning on it.  A diver that worked there was wearing a camera mask thing, and the audience could ask questions and the diver would answer.  Nana asked how old the turtle was--she was 100!  Then we went to Boston Common Park and saw the 'Make Way for Ducklings' ducks from the book and a statue of George Washington.  That night we went to see Wonder at the theater.  It was a gooooood movie!

Then, the next day, it was time to go to New York!  So we went back through the same 5 states and got into New York traffic.  It took a long time to drive a short distance.  You will have to wait to hear about NYC!
