Welcome to Conlin Chaos

Welcome to the family journal that captures the chaos that is the world of Colleen, Adam, Zach, Ben, Josh, Luke, Tommy, and Ruby. Here you will see small snippets of what we see every day.

Come. Enjoy! You know we do!

Blue Angels

On Friday the boys and I, along with Nana, Papa and Tutu, walked out on the I-90 bridge deck to watch the Blue Angels practice. Zach loved them, Ben got bored waiting for them to come when they had to turn around, and Josh was a little freaked out. I absoluely love them, and when they go roaring overhead I always get a little misty! That last picture is the visual of what the boys thought of the Angels, Zach and Josh thought they were loud (notice the difference in the looks on their faces, Josh didn't love the loudness at all, Zach wanted more!), Ben thought they were worth a thumbs up.

Laughter and Pee In A Cup

Today's Entertainment:
Today Ben and I heard one of those delicious sounds I would love to bottle up and save to open on a sad day. While giving Luke a bath, we lathered him up and then began to rinse the soap off of him. He began to giggle uncontrollably!! It was so wonderful; both Ben and I had to laugh out loud. I think the dripping water was tickling him! I love those little baby laughs that sound like they are bubbling up out of deep within! So much better than the other sounds that come from deep within Luke :).

We also got a delicious surprise from Josh. He walked up to Adam and told him he peed in a cup. At first we ignored him, because the kid says crazy stuff all the time, but then, wisely, Adam said, "What cup?" And Josh led him to our bathroom and showed him the cup we use for rinsing our mouths out after brushing, which he had peed in, then dumped in the toilet, and then put back where it belonged. Thank goodness Adam asked!!! We had to explain that not only does pee pee not belong in his underpants, it also does not belong in a cup. Just the toilet. That would have been a nasty bedtime surprise!!

I am Two Months Old Today!!!

I am SOOOOOOOO cute!!

Music In the Park

I braved taking all four boys out to a potentially very chaotic outing to see Eric Hermann and the Invisible Band at the Library Park yesterday. It turned out to be a really fun picnic lunch and some great music. Josh did a great job of staying close and I was by no means the only nursing mother there, so that was nice. The boys rocked out to tunes such as My Dad the Snore Monster and What I Love About Elephants. They even competed in the Ants in my Pants dance contest, which sadly they did not win. Ben was very distressed about this until I explained that everyone did such a good job and the judge just picked two random kids from the crowd. That crazy jumping kid is Zach, and Ben is standing next to him a little more subdued. I think he thought the Eric Hermann guy was kind of weird.

Pee pee time!

I apologize ahead of time for the potty talk, but this is exciting news for us!! Josh is well on his way to big-boyhood! He has got the pee pee down 95%, and is on to the big numero dos at a pretty good rate of 40%. We are optimistic about the progress and hope our day to say goodbye to disposables is soon (we are using cloth for Lucas, and I love it so much!).

Harrymania!!

If you know me at all, you know I had to attend the Harry Potter book release party. I took the two older boys (along with Nana and Papa)...which was so much fun. Zach, Ben and I started reading the Sorcerer's Stone together just a week before the seventh book came out, so I could introduce them to the world of Harry. So far they love it and are constantly having wizard's duels with "wands" (aka: sticks) in the back yard. Here are some of my favorite pics from the release night. I love you, H.P!

Swim Lessons

Last week Zach and Ben started this summer's round of swim lessons. It was as if they had never been out of the water over the past year. Ben's teacher gets a little frustrated because she can't make Ben keep his head above water. And Zach passed the swim test into the deep end at our church bbq/swim party this last weekend after just one week of lessons since last summer. I have to say it is a bit of a relief to know that at least two of my children know how to stay afloat if they fell into the water accidentally!

My boys

I callled this blog Conlin Chaos, but I need to make sure that everyone knows how much I love the chaos that is this Conlin family. The boys are my greatest treasures, and what can I even say about Adam? He is the best! Just to be clear, the chaos that is my life is the only life I would ever want! Although a tropical vacation wouldn't be too bad from time to time....

Luke's Sweet Smiles

Here is our little Luke and his big old smile. He makes you work for it, but when his whole face lights up and you can't help but feel so joyful at seeing that look of pure baby happiness!!
