First up for their first day were Tommy and Josh who started school on August 15th. Tommy started 4th grade at School in the Woods, which was so exciting for us all because we LOVE SITW. He will be riding the bus out to school with a bunch of kids from his home school. Nine kids got drawn for the lottery--all boys and all but one were from the French Immersion program, so he knows nearly all of them really well. Two of the boys are his close buddies, Ike and Dominic. Tommy is thrilled! Josh started high school and his FRESHMAN year at Rampart. He's been ready since the start of 8th grade, so there were no nerves at all. At least from Josh. I can't believe it my magic middle is in the big leagues now. We celebrated having Day One down/last day of summer for Ben and Luke by visiting Zac for burgers at Smashburger for dinner--plus, it was Adam and my anniversary, but since Adam was gone on the river trip, I invited the boys to celebrate with me.
Ben and Luke started on the 16th. Luke is a middle school pro now, and was ready for 7th at Mountain Ridge. Mostly he was so excited to see his friends again, but also looked forward to some of the subjects he likes--all of them except for French. Haha! Ben is sliding into 11th at Rampart. He has 4 AP classes, so he will be busy, but he's totally got this. No worries there!
